Welcome back to some wholesome disabled programming
Where the hell have I been and what trouble am I stirring up now? “Plenty and much of the same,” is what I’d say back, but in the wise words of Esquie, “Same same, but different.” You’ll notice here that the scenery has changed and that pesky web address is now not only fully custom, but owned by me! That’s right, I upgraded.
Welcome to this here new project. If you’re coming from Substack you’ll generally know what to expect just with some added polish. All of my old Substack writing has been imported and, to the likely dismay of a few people, locked behind a paywall. We’ll get to that.
Current political climes have me wary of spewing my frequently heavy political rants into the world without some caution. This new paywall, in addition to supporting a humble, opinionated blind person (I wanna get a new cane), acts as a de facto method of consent to receive such political rants. Generally speaking, my writing will continue to be free and available to everyone! My ego is not such that it suggests I should lock all of my thoughts behind a capitalistic vault. Musings on books, takes on disabled living, artistic explorations, will all continue to be free. But behind the wall? Political commentary and fiction. Yes, fiction! Bespoke made up words for this publication specifically.
I’m hoping to resume my place behind the keyboard with more regularity, especially as I churn up the courage to post smaller essays on books I’m reading and art I’ve encountered. Balancing that with paywalled value is, admittedly, not something my poor little leftist brain is always capable of, but I’ll attempt to strive for at least one “Blind” post a month. Story, political rant, sestina, whatever. May haps it be more, who knows. I’m blind and unpredictable.
